Innovation, being on the cutting edge, meeting your real needs, being there to reassure you…at Sterne we want to first accompany you, and reassure you in your choices : 3D silicone printing for a vision that is consistent with your ideas.

In order to provide its clients silicone prototypes with properties similar to the final products, STERNE, a specialist in manufacturing silicone items, has developed a new additive manufacturing technology by depositing filaments.

A research and development department composed of 3D specialists and engineers accompanies clients during the phases of project development and monitoring, to perpetuate new concepts and ideas. The result is rapid manufacturing with competitive deadlines, since no design or validation of tools is necessary. Only one step is needed to produce devices with complex and atypical forms.

3D silicone printing, an alternative that meets your technical needs

Recovers 100% of the strength and elongation properties of the injected finished product
Gives a precise idea of the final piece
Fast prototyping

3D printing properties

The technology, SiO-Shaping 1601, developed by Sterne in 2016, allows printing 100% UV cured silicones within the manufacturing dimensions of 205x200x100mm with a range of hardness from 30 to 60 Shore A, with a minimum printing layer of 0,1mm (100 microns). This technology makes it possible to print in a fine and precise finish small and medium series. A panel of colors is now available, for materials meeting FDA or USP class VI medical grade quality requirements, increasing the number of medical sector applications

In 2022, a new technology, SiO-Shaping 2201, has been developed, making it possible to print larger pieces (up to 500x500x500mm) in hardness from 10 to 80 Shore A. This latest version allows to print standard silicones (heat-cured), but also fluorinated silicones.
